How to convert Celsius to Fahrenheit
To convert a temperature from Celsius to Fahrenheit, multiply the Celsius value by 9/5 or 1.8, then add 32. Example: 25°C × 1.8 + 32 = 77°F.
Celsius to Fahrenheit: °F = °C × 9/5 + 32
Fahrenheit to Celsius: °C = (°F − 32) × 5/9
Celsius to Kelvin: K = °C + 273.15
Fahrenheit to Celsius: °C = (°F − 32) × 5/9
Celsius to Kelvin: K = °C + 273.15
Important: -40° is the same on both Celsius and Fahrenheit scales. That means -40°C = -40°F.
Why add 32?
Celsius and Fahrenheit do not start from the same zero point. Water freezes at 0°C but at 32°F, so the conversion needs both a scale change and an offset.
Common uses
