Yes or No Generator
Type a question, spin the wheel, and get an instant answer. Nudge the odds if you want the result to lean a certain way, switch to Detailed Mode for a wider set of answers, and track your streak along the way.
At the default setting, every spin is a genuine fifty fifty shot between Yes and No. Drag the odds slider toward either side to lean the result, or add Maybe to the mix for a softer third option.
Your result will appear here.
What a Yes or No Generator does and when to use it
A Yes or No Generator is a simple random decision tool. It picks an answer from Yes and No, adds Maybe as a softer third option if you turn that mode on, or switches to a wider set of short phrases in Detailed Mode. It is built for quick, lighthearted choices, not anything with real consequences riding on the outcome.
Type a question if you like, or leave it blank and just spin for fun. Choose a mode, click Get Answer, and the wheel picks a result using your browser's random number generator, weighted however you have set the odds slider.
How the randomness and the odds slider work
At the default fifty percent setting, Yes and No each have an even chance on every spin. Moving the slider changes that balance directly, so a setting of eighty percent means Yes comes up roughly eight times out of ten rather than five. In Yes, No, or Maybe mode, whatever probability is left over after Yes is split evenly between No and Maybe.
Yes or No mode: each result has an equal chance by default
Nothing about the slider makes any individual spin less random. It simply changes the underlying probabilities the random number generator is drawing from, the same way a weighted coin is still genuinely random even though it does not land heads exactly half the time.
What Detailed Mode adds
Detailed Mode swaps the plain Yes, No, and Maybe answers for a set of fifteen short phrases, five leaning positive, five leaning negative, and five more neutral or noncommittal. It is meant to feel a little more like a fortune telling toy than a flat coin flip, while each phrase still quietly counts toward the same Yes, No, and Maybe totals shown in your statistics.
Switching between modes mid session is fine. Your total spin count, streaks, and history all keep tracking normally no matter which mode produced each individual answer.
Good uses for a random yes or no answer
This tool works well for choosing between two similar options, settling a friendly debate, picking an activity, adding a bit of surprise to a classroom or party game, or just breaking a moment of indecision on something low stakes. The streak tracker and history make repeated spins more entertaining, whether that means seeing how long a Yes streak runs or comparing results with a friend.
What it is not built for is anything with real weight behind it. Financial, medical, legal, relationship, or safety decisions deserve facts, professional advice, and careful thinking, not a random spin, no matter how fun the wheel is to watch.
Getting more out of quick random decisions
Generating several answers at once, using the 3, 5, or 10 answer option, is a simple way to see a pattern rather than relying on a single spin, useful for anything from a group activity to a quick icebreaker game. Watching your current streak build is part of the fun on its own, and the result history underneath makes it easy to look back at everything a session has produced without having to remember each answer individually.
Yes or No Generator FAQ
Is this Yes or No Generator actually random?
Yes. Each answer is chosen using your browser's random number generator, from whichever options your selected mode allows. Unless you move the odds slider away from the middle, every option has an equal chance of coming up on any given spin.
Can I use Maybe mode?
Yes. Choose Yes, No, or Maybe from the decision mode row if you want a third, more neutral answer available alongside the usual two. It is a nice option when a flat yes or no feels too forceful for a lighthearted question.
What does the odds slider actually do?
It lets you shift the probability of getting Yes up or down before you spin, from mostly No all the way to mostly Yes, with the middle position keeping things at an even chance. The result shown is always genuinely random within whatever odds you set, it just is not required to stay at fifty fifty if you would rather it lean one way.
What is Detailed Mode and how is it different?
Detailed Mode swaps the plain Yes, No, and Maybe answers for a wider set of short phrases, some leaning positive, some leaning negative, and some more neutral or noncommittal. It is meant to feel a bit more like a fortune telling toy than a flat coin flip, while still counting toward the same Yes, No, and Maybe statistics behind the scenes.
Can I ask any question?
You can type any lighthearted, yes or no style question you like, or leave the box empty and just spin. For anything with real consequences, financial, medical, legal, or otherwise, this tool is not a substitute for facts, professional advice, and careful thinking.
Can I generate multiple answers at once?
Yes. Choose 1, 3, 5, or 10 answers per spin from the answer count option, and every result gets added to your streak count and result history for that session.
Does this tool save or store my questions?
No. Everything runs in your browser for the current visit only, with no account, sign up, or server side storage involved. Refreshing the page clears your history and streak, since nothing is saved anywhere.
